The best spot for a live station isn't always the biggest room. It's the place where the line helps the event: easy to see, organized enough to keep moving, and close to where people already are.
Start with the station's job
For lead capture, put it on the convention floor or in a sponsor lounge at Huntington Place. For social content, a pop-up, a rooftop, a patio or a launch party does better. For gifting, keep it near check-in, cocktail hour or the exit.
Detroit areas to consider
- Downtown & Huntington Place: the convention center, hotels, and the District's arenas and theatres.
- Corktown: lofts and creative rooms for launches and brand nights.
- Midtown: cultural and university events and ballroom dinners.
- Eastern Market: market sheds and warehouse spaces for pop-ups.
- Royal Oak & Ferndale: suburban nightlife and private parties.
- Dearborn: auto-industry meetings and conference hotels.
What the room needs
About 10×10 ft, two 120V circuits, a level floor, and a line path that doesn't block doors or service lanes. Outdoors in summer, add a canopy and a plan for wind and boxed blanks. In winter most Detroit events are indoors anyway.
Quick check: if there's room for a merch table and a short line, there's probably room for a live press. Send the floor plan and we'll flag power, load-in or line problems before we quote.
Detroit planning notes
Reading a Detroit floor plan
We look for three things: where the freight comes in, where the two circuits are, and where a line can stand without blocking anything. In an older Corktown or Eastern Market building, the door width goes on that list too.
