Space, power and timing for a live printing booth in Detroit
Plan on a 10×10 ft footprint and two 120V/20A circuits per station. At Huntington Place you don't plug into the wall: power gets ordered through the venue, and load-in follows the marshalling schedule, so we lock the station plan before that order goes in. Corktown is the opposite problem. Older buildings there can have a narrow door or no freight lift, and the outlets in a loft or a bar often sit on one shared circuit. Send the address and a photo of the panel early. If the room can only carry one press, we pair it with a DTF lane for names and model years.
Each guest takes about 2 minutes and two presses do 100+ an hour, so a two-hour window before a Lions game at Ford Field or a Tigers game at Comerica Park comes out near 200 pieces. Eastern Market pop-ups move out to the sheds in summer, which means a canopy, a generator or a power drop, and blanks kept boxed until they're pressed. From late fall on, launches stay indoors and we add beanies to the hat wall. Everything ships freight from Fullerton and the crew flies in a day early, because a Michigan snowstorm can ground a morning flight.
